Good morning all,
Today I woke up unable to remember the name of a software program that seemed oh so important only yesterday. Next, I received a Facebook message from a friend with prefrontal dementia, the Bruce Willis diagnosis. Hey, is that me too?
Thinking about how there are too many things to remember these days, I flashed back to my "youth," when cars were very important in my life - I could instantly identify every car on the road at a glance. At some point, cars became less and less important, and I remember making a conscious decision to no longer care or even try to identify them all. Oh, but that 1964 Jaguar XK-E 4.2 liter was sure a beauty - even if the triple SU carburetors were a bitch to keep tuned.
OK, it’s time for coffee - oh yea, I remember what that is. And what are those round bready things we like so much? Ah, yes, bagels. Whew, passed my morning cognition test once again.
Over coffee I opened an excellent article by my friend Ed William and found that on this very morning, he too was thinking about the importance of focusing on something rather than everything, Please enjoy his excellent writing and thinking.

When you focus on “something” for long enough, inevitably, you become a something geek. For me, my focus is information and how we use it for our benefit. In future issues of this blog, I will be exploring information in terms of AI and how it can benefit us as individuals.
For the rest, please feel free to comment with your experiences and enjoy your Sunday.
Thank you for sharing, Mark! And your final point about focusing on something long enough to become a geek is such a good one. Lesson: pick your somethings carefully! I hope the somethings that I pick/have picked turn out to be as stimulating and productive as yours.
PS - where can I get hold of one of those bagels...
